Loan Program

CCEF is partnering with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to provide the REAP Grant Bridge Loan to successful grant applicants, to bridge the gap between project implementation and receipt of grant funds from the USDA Rural Energy for America Program (REAP).

CCEF will work with grant applicants to secure financing ahead of the grant application. Upon loan approval, applicants will receive a Letter of Commitment (LOC) of funds to submit with their REAP grant application (worth an additional 15 points).

The entire project cost can be financed through CCEF. In this case, the grant award will be used to pay down the loan and the loan will be re-amortized at no cost to the borrower. Click here to view and download the program flyer.

CCEF REAP Grant Bridge Loan

Loan Amount: Up to $1,000,000

Term: Up to 180 months

Rate: Fixed, below market

Repayment: Monthly principal + Interest payments No prepayment penalties

Security: Varies

Speed: Access to funding dependent on timeline of grant award

Here’s the Process:

  • Click on Submit a Project and complete CCEF Project Intake Form.

  • CCEF will set up an initial call to learn more and discuss options

  • Applicants who submit a qualified project will be invited to submit a loan application.
