“I was surprised at how fast and efficient the RENU approval process was.”

Vincent Varughese financed with CCEF’s Residential Energy Upgrade loan program (RENU) to install a massive 18.3 kW Tesla solar system, with a large Tesla Powerwall 2 battery system at his home in Thornton, Colorado. Vincent was referred to RENU by Elevated Independent Energy and decided to use the program to finance his solar and EV charging station. Since he had two electric vehicles, he wanted to install a large EV charging station that would ensure the correct charging power capability.

With the convenience of this installation, Vincent enjoys the convenience of not having to charge anywhere other than his own home. He hopes that this system will offset the general consumption of energy usage in his home.

Vincent shared that being in the solar industry himself, he is aware of the fact that solar has been on the horizon for several years, as well as the increase of EV use and cutting down fuel costs. With one of his electric vehicles being an SUV, it takes a lot of power to fuel this vehicle and the amount he is paying on his loan is equivalent to what he would have paid on gas due to his long commutes.

Vincent recounted that it was an easy installation and his installer walked them through everything. The installation took three to four days, and he was happy with the overall process, sharing that the design phase was very easy and quick because it was transparent as well as easy to personalize.

“Even with the rate environment, your pricing was very competitive,” Vincent said.

RENU was an overall great fit for Vincent’s installations and financing, and he is satisfied with this system enabling him and his family to become more sustainable.

CCEF is happy to have helped make this home energy upgrade an affordable, easy process for Vincent and other homeowners in Colorado! Visit ccef.info/renu to learn more.
